Diwali posts for cafés
Diwali falls on Sunday, 8 November 2026. Every café feed fills with the same diyas and marigolds that week. The posts people stop for show your own cup, your own counter and your own kind of evening, lit like Diwali.

Diwali post ideas for cafés
01
Your cup is the diya
Shoot your signature drink in warm, low light so the cup itself glows. One hero, no props borrowed from other feeds.
02
The Diwali special, honestly
If you make a festive drink or bake (a cardamom latte, a kaju-katli croissant), give it one clean post with its name. If you don’t, don’t invent one.
03
Your space after dark
Most cafés look their best on Diwali evening. A wide shot of your own lights, tables and people (with their permission) beats any stock scene.
04
Gift boxes and pre-orders
Coffee beans, cookie tins or hampers for corporate and family gifting: post them a week before, with how to order.
05
Thank your regulars
A short note to the people who come every morning reads warmer than any greeting card line.
What to say
The greeting
- Happy Diwali
- दीपावली की शुभकामनाएं
- దీపావళి శుభాకాంక్షలు
Caption starters (change the details to yours)
- This Diwali, the light comes in a cup. Open till 9 pm on the 8th — come by.
- Our Diwali tins are back: house beans and cardamom cookies, packed for gifting. DM to order before the 5th.
- To everyone who starts their mornings with us: Happy Diwali from all of us at the counter.
When to post
1 November
Gift boxes and pre-orders, with the last day to order.
6 November (Dhanteras)
Your Diwali special or festive menu.
8 November, 8 am
The Diwali post itself, and your opening hours for the day.
9 November
A thank-you with photos from the evening (with permission).
What to avoid
- Stock diyas, rangoli and fireworks that every other account posts the same week.
- Offers you are not actually running, or prices you have not decided.
- Clutter: one hero subject reads on a phone; ten props do not.
- Off-brand props — a specialty café posting street-style kulhad chai, or the other way round.
Questions
When is Diwali 2026?
Diwali (Lakshmi Puja) is on Sunday, 8 November 2026. Dhanteras, the big buying day, comes two days earlier.
When should a café post for Diwali?
A week before for gift boxes and pre-orders, on Dhanteras for a festive special, and on the morning of Diwali for the greeting itself, around 8 am.
What should a café’s Diwali post show?
Your own drink, bake or space, lit warmly — not stock diyas. The post should only make sense for your café.
Can I write the greeting in Hindi or Telugu?
Yes. “दीपावली की शुभकामनाएं” in Hindi and “దీపావళి శుభాకాంక్షలు” in Telugu. Orbit sets Hindi and Telugu headlines correctly on the post.
